If you have a question about whether greywater is legal in your state, the answer is almost certainly on our state guides page. For installation questions, see our guides library. For permit cost questions specific to your address, contact your local building or health department directly — we can’t speak to individual jurisdiction specifics.

We’re most helpful for:

Factual corrections: If a state guide contains an error (wrong statute citation, outdated threshold, etc.), we want to know. Please include a link to the official source if possible.
Missing content: If your state or city isn’t well covered and you have official source information, we’d love to incorporate it.
Rebate program updates: Rebate amounts and availability change frequently. If you’ve recently applied for a program and the information differs from ours, please let us know.
