About GreywaterHub

Our Mission

GreywaterHub exists to make residential greywater reuse accessible to every American homeowner. The information exists — in state administrative codes, county health department PDFs, and academic extension publications — but it’s scattered, technical, and often years out of date. We translate it into plain language and organize it so a homeowner can find what they need in minutes rather than hours.

What We Cover

GreywaterHub covers residential greywater reuse in the United States, including:

Editorial Standards

We strive to cite primary sources (state administrative codes, official agency guidance) rather than secondary summaries. When regulations are ambiguous or locally variable, we say so clearly rather than overstating certainty. All guides carry a disclaimer that this is general information and that readers should verify with their local authority before installation.

State regulations change. We review and update content regularly, but there will always be a lag between regulatory changes and our updates. The date shown on each guide reflects the most recent review. When in doubt, call your local building or health department — they’re the authoritative source.

No Advertising Influence

GreywaterHub displays advertising to fund site operations, but advertisers have no influence over our editorial content. We do not accept payment for placement in guides, recommend specific products or contractors, or accept sponsored content. When we name specific brands (e.g., in the detergent guide), it’s based on their documented greywater suitability, not commercial relationships.
